Will my dog run into the clear view glass dog gate?

Etching a design onto glass windows or doors serves as a visual cue for dogs to recognize the presence of a barrier. Here’s how it helps:

  1. Breaking the Transparency: Clear glass can be difficult for dogs to discern. An etched design, sticker, or decal interrupts this transparency, offering dogs a visible indication of an obstruction.
  2. Creating Contrast: Designs, particularly if they contrast with the background, stand out and make the barrier more noticeable to dogs. Since dogs don’t perceive the full spectrum of colors like humans do, high contrast designs (like etched grey on white) are particularly effective.
  3. Consistent Indicator: When dogs repeatedly encounter the same design as a sign of a barrier, they begin to associate that design with the presence of an obstacle. Over time, they’ll recognize the pattern and be less likely to run into the glass.

How do I give you my opening measurements?

Please read the measuring and fitting guide on this page,  once you have entered your opening width in mm’s, we will make the tolerances needed so that your glass dog gate fits into the opening.

When will my glass dog gate arrive?

Each door is individually made to fit your opening sizes, normally this takes between 7 and 10 days

How easy is the glass dog gate to fit and can I have it left or right hand opening?

The dog gate can be easily fitted into most openings and a full install guide is included. The doors are supplied as left hand doors, it can easily be changed to a right hand opening door, simply follow the “changing to a right hand hinged door” guide
