What glass is used for shelving?
We always use a strengthened toughened glass, we can help you decide the most appropriate thickness for your application. Normally the thinnest glass for shelving is 6mm, this used to be known as 1/4 plate glass. For wider spans, consider moving up to an 8mm or 10mm thickness. This glass is more structural and gives a luxury feel to the shelving unit.
Do you supply Shelf brackets?
We have a range of fixing options to suit your application. Most shelving will need a side fixing, although some shelf brackets will support up to 250mm from the back. Call us on 01223 211041 to discuss individual requirements.
How long does it take to make my shelving?
Normally glass shelving can be supplied in around 1-2 weeks, glass is manufactured in our Cambridge glass production centre and can be collected from our factory or delivered to your address.
Can Toughened glass shelves break?
It is difficult to break toughened glass, however if the glass is broken then it will break safely into small pieces which won’t cause injury. Shelving in float glass is not advised as this glass will break into large pieces.
